With Revolutionary
Technologies, LG’s Front-loading Washing Machine Achieves Global Recognition
and Becomes a Market Leader
Nairobi, July 13, 2012 – LG Electronics’ latest front-loading
washing machine, Bigin 12kg, F1495BDS, has been rated number one in performance
by the UK independent consumer body ‘Which?’. Equipped with LG’s revolutionary
6Motion™ technology and propriety Inverter Direct Drive motor, the washing
machine has received first-class reviews from the organization, beating top
class brands from around the world. LG’s washing machine is the only
non-European brand among top ten rankings. Moreover, it has been rated number
one for three consecutive years since 2010.
“LG have always strived to deliver products that are built with the best
technology, bringing convenience and ease to consumers’ lives,” said Moon-bum
Shin, Executive Vice President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Appliance
Company. “This result proves just how much our hard work has paid off and
encourages us to continue improving and developing the best technology in the
market.”
LG’s front-loading washing machine, featuring innovative technologies,
managed to come in ahead of 23 other brands garnering a lot of attention from
European consumers. They were
highly impressed by LG’s 6Motion™ technology – Tumbling, Scrubbing, Filtration, Rolling,
Stepping and Swing –
which combines all six washing motions in a variety of ways to produce the best
results, according to fabric and load size. ‘Which?’ gave
the LG washing machine’s
Cotton Wash, Easy Care Wash and Spin Drying five stars, the highest
score possible in their rating system.
The Inverter Direct Drive motor, a proprietary LG technology, was also
given much recognition. Thanks to the elimination of belts and pulleys found in
conventional machines, consumers can enjoy the benefits of greater power,
reduced energy consumption and lower noise levels. These factors enabled LG’s
front-loading washing machine to achieve impressive four star ratings in the
Noise category and both Energy and Water efficiency categories, illustrating
the success of LG’s eco-friendly technology.
The UK’s largest
independent consumer body, ‘Which?’ offers potential buyers the chance to
access information, by testing products once or twice annually, helping them
make good choices when purchasing products. Specific prices, performance
comparisons and analyses of consumer purchasing patterns are provided to give
accurate and helpful insight.
