Jubilee Insurance and Bupa Launch Strategic Partnership in International Health Insurance ·

·         The partnership will enable Jubilee Insurance to consolidate its position as the market leader in both domestic and international medical insurance provider both in Kenya and the region.
East Africa’s largest insurance group, Jubilee Insurance and Bupa International, the leading international healthcare company, today launched a strategic partnership which brings together Jubilee’s local knowledge with Bupa’s global healthcare expertise.

The partnership will target the growing number of top-level executives, the high-end market segment and expatriates living in the region given Kenya’s position as a regional economic hub for international business and human resource capital.

Patrick Tumbo, CEO of Jubilee Kenya, said: “The partnership will offer Jubilee customers access to an expansive range of international medical health-care services through a health insurer they can rely upon to provide comprehensive benefits together with high quality service. The partnership will also enable the company to consolidate its position as the market leader in both domestic and international medical insurance provider both in Kenya and the East Africa region.”

Mr. Tumbo also added that Jubilee customers will be able to be treated in any one of Bupa International’s network of over 7,500 independent participating hospitals and clinics worldwide, or in any recognized hospital or clinic of their choice.

Under the partnership, Jubilee Insurance will provide Bupa’s international healthcare policies in the market alongside its existing products through a selection of its distribution channel of brokers, agents and on a direct basis.

Some of the international healthcare policies the company will roll-out in the market include family, small company and corporate medical plans. Additional benefits, such as evacuation and repatriation options, will be available so customers who can access the most appropriate treatment, wherever they are in the world.

The strategic partnership by the two insurers has received the mandatory authorisation from Kenya’s Insurance Industry regulator, the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA).
